Love is Absolute.

My list is done. Love is the only certainty that matters to me. I could sit here, put pen to paper many other ‘certainties.’ Such as, ‘The sun is always going to rise tomorrow,’ or ‘We are all going to die,’ or ‘Winter is always cold.’ Ahí va… useless notions do you not think? In the context of this question… How cleaver do you want me to become? How pretty should my sentiments be to make me look smart? How empty my words?

A certainty is a guarantee that something is always going to happen, the same way, at the same time, every time. Personally I have never seen something that is a certainty aside from universal constants. Light. It’s speed is constant. Electrons always have the same mass and Avagadro’s number will always be the same. These are constants, scientific certainties… In life though… As we experience this material world through the filter of our consciousness, Is anything ever a certainty?

To me, nothing has ever proven to be so…

But Love?

Ahh… Love…

It hurts as much as it comforts. It causes pain as much as it does pleasure. It heals and it breaks. Even still, love has always been something I can rely on. I know when I’m in it. I know how much I have of it for someone. I know when someone truly feels it for me. It is the relationship equalizer, the test that always proves out in the end the truth and fallacies of our hearts. It is that one thing I live for above all, that which drives me when all else is gone.

My ardor for Love is this… Even if that thing that you love is gone…

Your love for it never is.
